The Waltz is one of the most traditional dances we offer and remains a timeless favorite at weddings, special celebrations, and even relaxed Sunday afternoons. The Waltz Box is known for its smooth, flowing movement and the clear communication it creates between dance partners.

For our 3rd grade students, we focus on introducing the basic steps and allowing them time to become comfortable dancing with a partner. As students progress into the older grades, instruction expands to include the art of leading and following. Gentlemen learn how to confidently guide the dance, while both partners develop coordination, timing, and awareness of one another’s movement.

In the advanced years, we also emphasize floor awareness and planning skills, teaching students how to move gracefully throughout the dance floor together so the dance appears polished and effortless rather than feeling like a tug of war.

Upbeat, energetic, and incredibly fun, this dance is always a student favorite. Featuring a two-hand hold and lively footwork, it is relatively easy to learn and can be adapted to a wide variety of music styles and tempos.
